Listening:

I listen to you with the intent to understand. I do truly listen to what you say and also what is not said. By listening to you, my wife, I am trying to show you how interesting you really are to me. I strive to be a good listener, understanding you fully. You always seem to say the right thing to make me smile. Even when the day is long, and I am being mean, you still strive to say something to ease me. I am listening. I always listen, always longing to hear more. Never stop talking and I will never stop listening. Even when nothing is said, I still listen.
